This book describes the origin and early decades of these church federations in these two English-speaking countries, and how the inheritance was preserved which they received through their forefathers (in the Netherlands). Continuing in the line of Calvin and the 1618-9 Synod of Dordrecht (Dort or Dordt for short), acknowledging the Word of God as their only rule, and honouring the Covenant, by which they have been marked as Christ's own, they have been preserved by the Head of the Church, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Those who instituted these churches in Canada, Australia and the USA, did not initiate something new. Through the grace of God they simply continued in the path their forefather trod. Bringing with them the inheritance of centuries, they were deemed worthy to preserve it.
